Drill Down/Drill Through

Drill Down

A drill down is the process behind an element that can be clicked on (for example, a folder or data point on a graph) to get more granular information about it. A drill down therefore assumes a hierarchical relationship between elements. In the context of Izenda, drilldown functionality allows linking two existing reports via a drill down key, which sends information to the subreport. This is set on the Miscellaneous tab of the Report Designer.

Drill Through

In the context of information technology, drill through is the process of exploring elements like folders or data points by clicking through a link to a related report or visualization. In this way, the drill through process allows users to explore another aspect of the data, by seeing it in a new way, rather than (with a drill down) a more granular view of it.
