Siloed analytics are those that are performed on data from a single application. In the context of that application, these analytics can be useful. Unfortunately, reporting on analytics against a data silo gives a very narrow view (from one source) of an organization’s operations. Today organizations of every size use multiple applications and interact with a variety of data sources. Therefore, analytics should report on data across the organization to provide a complete view. If only one part of the data is represented in the analysis, then analytics will be one-sided and inaccurate.
