Izenda 3.10.0 Core Product Release – July 2020

izenda product release 3.10.0

Good news, everyone! We just released Izenda 3.10.0 and boy, is it a big one. Lots of great stuff to unpack so let’s jump right into it!

What’s New

Here’s an overview of all that’s new to the Izenda platform.

NLQ Introduced

We finally introduced Natural Language Query (NLQ) into the platform. This allows users to leverage our ‘Explore’ tab, using simple questions similar to a search engine to generate insights and visualizations.

New Grid Styles

In order to support a nicer visual experience, we updated the styling of our grid report parts to feel more modern. This will also grow to encompass easier ways to add aggregations, group data, and apply formats directly to the grid.

Tenant Templates

Utilizing the Copy Management suite, we improved the performance of this area while also allowing easier copying of tenant objects and their data. This makes for an easier time for creating template tenants and easily copying them out to new ones, saving on deployment time for multi-tenant environments.

REST APIs

REST API sources can now be added as a reporting data source. Users can configure a collection of endpoints to create as a singular connector for reporting needs.

Data Model Import/Export

APIs have been added to allow users to export and import their data model setups. This will make it possible for users to quickly deploy their data models from stored definitions which can be version controlled.

What’s Coming

Here’s an overview of what’s coming soon to the Izenda platform as part of future releases.

Asynchronous Exporting

We are adding the option to leverage an asynchronous exporting process. This will let users export reports without waiting on them, and they will receive a notification when their exports are complete. For larger, more intensive exports this will avoid limitations that cause exports to commonly time out in the current experience.

KPI Report Parts

A new report part, KPIs, will be added. This will act as an intermediate report type combining simple gauges and forms to allow a more comprehensive styling/layout experience for metric-based reporting.

Snowflake Support

Snowflake will be added with a direct connector for reporting data.

New IAdHocExtension Methods

Two new extensions will be added, allowing users to modify the structure of REST API requests before they are sent, and one that will allow customization of the queries Izenda generates for reports.

Report Designer v2

Izenda is currently designing a new report designer experience to improve ease of use, streamline report creation, and provide more flexibility and control for the average citizen user.
