Izenda Product Release v2.18.0 – March  2019

TL;DR: (let’s get right to the point)

You can now report from Elasticsearch data inside of Izenda! If you are on at least version 2.2 of Elasticsearch you can start building visualizations for your users against that data.  In addition to adding this new datasource, we have also upgraded several of our third party libraries to make Izenda even more secure.

Consider the Following: (practical applications and uses)

Elasticsearch is a distributed, RESTful search and analytics engine used as part of the Elastic Stack. This approach to data has seen an increase in popularity due to the ease of deployment and reliability of service. Elasticsearch has created a snappy series of indices, horizontal scalability, and cross-cluster replication to make sure your data is as accessible and as responsive as you need it to be.

The Developer’s District: (esoteric enjoyment for engineers)

To leverage our Elasticsearch connections, you will look to add them the same way that you do today. Navigate to your Data Setup > Connections page and click to add a new connection. In the dropdown where you select your database type, you should see an additional option for an Elasticsearch connection string. Choose that option, input your connection string, and hit connect. An example of a valid connection string would follow this syntax:

server=https://yourelasticinstanceurl;Port=9243;User=dbuser;Password=xxxxx;FlattenArrays=7;
