Izenda Product Update – New UI skin, .NET Core, & New Exporting Provider

Izenda Product Release v3.0.0 – April  2019

TL;DR: (let’s get right to the point)

We’ve packed a lot into this major version change: A new UI skin, .NET Core, a new exporting Provider, and more error improvements!

Consider the Following: (practical applications and uses)

White-labeling an embedded software is essential for having a cohesive end-user experience. Our new UI has aimed to make our pages more directed and, more importantly, easier to theme. The look and feel has been adjusted to make your theming experience simpler and more straightforward.

Infrastructure costs can be a large consideration when looking at how to deploy and host your application. Now with our .NET Core compliance, you can host Izenda on both Linux and Windows environments. This means that you can save on infrastructure costs by using Linux machines for hosting, or simply dropping the windows infrastructure you may have had to spin up to leverage Izenda in the past.

The Developer’s District: (esoteric enjoyment for engineers)

Our downloads page will now contain two API resources: API_AspNet.zip and API_AspNetCore.zip. If you want to deploy Izenda into a non-windows environment or use the .NET Core resources, choose the API_AspNetCore.zip file. Otherwise, download the AspNet resources and upgrade your instance of Izenda in the same fashion.

When leveraging our .NET Core resources, you will want to make sure that any machine you are using has the .NET Core runtime and hosting packages installed. If you are using an IDE, like Visual Studio, you will want to make sure you are use a core-compliant compiler setting.

Our new UI skin should have little impact on any styling you have already done on the application. When upgrading, we would recommend doing a brief overview of your application to make sure nothing has broken stylistically. This change only affects the styling of the front-end and has no functional impact on how our front-end components interact with the API.
