Google says it was necessary to unleash the JavaScript application framework from architectural limitations. An accompanying eightfold speed increase for rendering and updating pages accompanies the changes. But many of those changes aren’t compatible with AngularJS 1. A free tool will allow some of the changes between the two versions to intermingle.

Google also listened to developers and switched back to the MIT Open Sourced Licensing Framework.

The Node.js engine and Npm are on top as a userland component. Using them for development lowers the barrier of entry for programmers, since JavaScript is arguably faster and easier to work with than C, according to InfoWorld’s Serdar Yequlalp.
